My Top 3 Facebook Groups for Kansas Outdoor Enthusiasts

Facebook groups are great places for Kansas outdoor enthusiasts to share their experiences with people of the same interests.

Since hiking, biking, camping and exploring are passions of mine, it only makes sense to be part of Facebook groups that bring outdoor enthusiasts together.

I’ll admit, I don’t post or comment as often as I probably should, but I do enjoy seeing pictures, videos and stories from my online communities.

Even though I’m in a few Facebook groups for people who love the outdoors, there are three that I think are worth mentioning.

Here are my Top 3 Facebook Groups for Kansas Outdoor Enthusiasts

Camping Kansas Lake Scott

Scenic Kansas

Scenic Kansas is probably my favorite Facebook Group.

The group showcases the wild and rugged side of Kansas. Its members are extremely enthusiastic about their love for the Kansas landscape, and it shows through their pictures and visual stories.

There are some really talented photographers in this group. Some professional photographers contribute nightscapes, stormy skies, wildlife; regional and general Kansas scenery.

Adding to the group are people who aren’t professionals, but still love taking pics of Kansas. And even though they don’t capture the dreamy shots, it’s fun for me to see their adventures.

But no matter what you bring to the group, everyone is respectful and uplifting, and I think that’s pretty cool.

Nick Abt is the group’s administrator. I don’t know him offline but I can tell he’s in this to serve his community.

He shares his own experiences with the group while, at the same time, promoting the work of others. I don’t see that from the administrators of any other group I’m part of.

To me, this group is second to none.

Kansas Nature Lovers

Hiking Kansas Sand Hills State Park

Kansas Nature Lovers is another Facebook group I enjoy.

This group celebrates the beauty of our state and posts lots of random nature shots from around Kansas. Pics include anything from landscapes and flowers, to wildlife and historic buildings.

The group members are friendly and respectful. They complement each other’s work and there’s a lot of interaction.

This group is operated and maintained by the administrators of Only In Kansas, the Facebook page and website.

What I find unique about this group is, the administrators will post the Picture of the Day on the Only In Kansas Facebook page.

It’s a pretty good feeling when your picture is highlighted.

Kansas Hiking Club

The Kansas Hiking Club Facebook group is a great place for hikers to connect.

The group members share their hiking experiences with pictures, videos and descriptions. They also offer advice and discuss things like gear, trail conditions and safety precautions.

Even though it’s called the Kansas Hiking Club, it’s not limited to Kansas hiking trails.

The group covers the Midwest region including Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and other surrounding states. Colorado hiking trails come up every now and then as well.

If you want info about hiking trails in the region, this group is a good place to go to.

Add to My List

Of course, these aren’t the only Facebook groups for Kansas outdoor enthusiasts, but they’re among my favorites.

What groups do you follow for hiking, biking and camping? Leave a comment to add to my list.

Safe Travels!
